Is this happening on ns1.synack.org? The wolf.synack.org subdomain lists
ns1.synack.org in its NS records:

wolf.synack.org.	38400	NS	ns1.synack.org.
wolf.synack.org.	38400	NS	fur.wolf.synack.org.

So it thinks that ns1.synack.org is a slave server, and sends NOTIFY
messages to it.

You and he need to agree on whether you're a stub server or a slave server,
and reconfigure either your server or his NS records.
