Forcing zone transfers

If you want it to transfer more often, why do you set the refresh time so
high?

BIND 8 and Microsoft DNS both implement the NOTIFY mechanism.  The master
server should notify all the servers listed in NS records whenever the zone
is reloaded, and they should transfer the zone immediately.  Did you forget
to list the slave server in your NS records?
