Network Services

We operate significant network services for the overall benefit of the Internet community. The largest of these is F-Root, but we also run secondary name services and provide hosting for public-benefit non-profit projects. We maintain the Domain Survey.   For current status on our network operations, check our status page.

F-Root

ISC operates the “F” root domain server, one of the 13 Internet root name servers known as A-root through M-root. We are proud and grateful to operate F-Root for IANA since 1994.

SNS-PB

ISC offers a public benefit SNS. We are pleased to serve more than 60 top level domains in addition to hundreds of Internet infrastructure, public benefit/non-profit, and partner domains. These DNS zones are served using ISC’s global anycast network.

Hosted@ISC

ISC’s main data centers in the San Francisco Bay Area are available to qualified public benefit projects for hosting, mirroring, or network operations. Among the services available include rack space and power, connectivity, remote hands, and web hosting.

Domain Survey

The Domain Survey attempts to discover every host on the Internet by doing a complete search of the allocated address space and following links to domain names. It is sponsored by Internet Systems Consortium, Inc. with technical operations subcontracted to 3waylabs.
