We are preparing to deploy the first of many IP based industrial devices at
our location. The first devices are switches. These switches can us bootp,
tftp, dchp, and dhcp option 82.

I want to be able to have an individual device replaces, and receive the
correct configuration for the device in the "location"

The switch vendor seems to think that I can do this with DHCP option 82. I
am not certain that this will work. I have looked at Network Vision's
"Auto IP" product, and they claim it can do this.

Has anyone done this? If so, what techniques did you use?
