Version 4.0.0a3 does not compile with default '-Werror' flag

We already have a ticket open on this, and it's repaired in the
current CVS snapshot.

So these will be fixed in the next 4.0.0 pre-release.


It's strange this failed on Solaris 10.  I thought we had one of
those in our automated build lab.
