dhcpd performance?

If you search the archives you will find that this has been discussed 
a few times in the past.

The server itself can only handle one simultaneous task - but it 
generally does that very quickly. How that translates into 
supportable number of clients depends on a lot of variables - but I 
believe there are installations serving many tens of thousands of 
clients in use, and for smaller installations the service tends to be 
run as a 'background task' rather than on a dedicated server as it's 
overhead is quite low.

Do you have any specific requirements in mind ?
