Meet an ISC Staff Member – Jason Lasky!

In the continuing series of profiles of some of our staff members, let’s get to know Jason Lasky, our Senior Account Manager!

Jason Lasky of ISC

Although his youthful looks and easygoing demeanor may not show it, Jason Lasky has been working in sales and sales management for over 35 years. After getting a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from James Madison University (go Dukes!), Jason worked for two of the first commercial Internet Service Providers, PSINet and UUNET. He also spent some time in medical device sales and working for several online marketing organizations.

But in 2013, the startup Jason was working for was folding, and his former boss at UUNET happened to post on LinkedIn that he was looking to “get the band back together” at a company he had just started working for. That former (and future) boss? Jeff Osborn, ISC’s president. Jason met with Jeff that same day and the rest is history! (There are actually four former UUNET staff members who now work for ISC.)

For the last 13 years here at ISC, Jason’s role has been “to generate revenue by working with current support customers, as well as new prospects seeking support solutions.” He adds, “Since our sales organization is small, I get to handle all facets of the sales process.”

Jason says, “Working for an open source software organization has been an extremely rewarding experience. It’s a great feeling knowing that so many of my customers feel good about helping to support ISC’s mission.”

Working at ISC has been a career highlight for Jason: “I find it very rewarding to work with customers who truly appreciate the work ISC does. This alone makes me feel like I’m part of a team that’s doing positive things. Also, I really enjoy my coworkers and the supportive environment that ISC offers its staff members.”

Anyone who has interacted with Jason agrees with him when he says, “I do my best to be a happy and positive person in all my interactions with customers, sales prospects, and coworkers.” When he’s not at his desk, Jason can usually be found on a sports field or court, as he enjoys volleyball, softball, cornhole, and golf; or playing pub trivia with his “Commander Salamander” team. He and his wife April are preparing to be empty nesters as their daughter heads to the University of Oklahoma this fall, where she’ll be a member of the women’s rowing team (Boomer Sooner!).

As always, we thank you for reading this profile; we hope it helps our customers and users get to know ISC a little bit better. We welcome your feedback at marketing@isc.org, and thank you for using ISC’s software!
