Meet an ISC Staff Member – T. Marc Jones!

In the past, we’ve profiled some of ISC’s software and support engineers, and even our product manager. But what about some of our non-technical staff? Let’s meet T. Marc Jones, our Director of Sales!

T. Marc Jones has been in the Internet industry since the 1990s, when the commercial Internet was just starting to be a “thing.” He started out in sales at UUNET Technologies, one of the first Internet Service Providers, and also spent time at Cable and Wireless, Verizon, and Cogent before joining ISC in 2013.

Although his previous work was all in the for-profit sector, T. Marc believes in the open source mission. He says, “I think it’s a really cool thing to work on open source projects that are so widely used and a critical part of a successful and functional Internet.” He especially enjoys his colleagues at ISC: “We have a unique model where all our staff are globally distributed and remote from one another. Still, we have been able to create a close, professional, and very effective work (and personal relationship) environment. I hadn’t experienced anything like this in my prior work experiences.”

T. Marc is responsible for sales and the primary ISC revenue-generating activities. He adds, ”In this role, I hope to continue growing the number of ISC customers and contributing to the ISC cause."

T. Marc is yet another multidisciplinary ISC staff member: he holds a Bachelor of Economics with a Minor in Philosophy from Lehigh University, where he was also a talented team athlete. He says, “I bring that sense of teamwork and fellowship to ISC. I see our customers, business partners, and user community as team members too, and I want everyone to feel good about their association with ISC.”

His smooth personality and melodious voice are natural assets in sales, but T. Marc is also a professional High Performance Driving Coach! He says, “I teach aspiring racing drivers the fundamentals of high performance racetrack driving. I am certified with the Motorsport Safety Foundation and enjoy national credentials to coach anywhere in the United States!”

When he’s not zooming around the track, you might find T. Marc riding his bike around the San Francisco Bay area. Wherever he is, he’s a huge asset to ISC and we are fortunate to have him on our team.
