'allow-update' set up to accept the dynamic updates from the IP that the
DHCP server is on. This can be done globally in the options setting, or on a
zone by zone basis. Note that once you move zones to dynamic updates, you
should not be editing those same zone files by hand anymore. You can search
the archives/docs/web for 'dynamic update', that is the mechanism that makes
this work.

Subject: zonefile via DHCP

Hi,

I just set up Bind 8.22 on Solaris 8 and I have a DHCP demon running on that
same Machine.
with Win2k it was somehow possible to get the DHCP Server entring the
clients names in the local zonefile. My Mac notebook is a DHCP client, I
entered a name in the TCP/IP controlpanel. When it received its IP-adress,
the router adress and the domainname the Server entered the fully qualified
Domainname in the zonefile of the DNSserver. Is this possible with bind too?

Thanks Thomas
