impression that they designed their TCP/IP stack to be very compatible with
Unix's, since they've been able to port just about everything.  I expect
that the only parts that require much localization are the parts that deal
with the file system, which shouldn't have much impact on slaving.  I've
never heard of a problem having a VMS system slave off Unix.
