Trying to do reverse lookups, but crashing named instead.

That came from the Red Hat IPA configuration.

I can do that. I am in the process of rebuilding the virtual machine in
hopes of building this piece by piece instead of trying to bulk
install/configure. I will not install IPA until after I attempt this
named/dhcpd build again. I am hoping that I can replicate the error
again but know a little more about where it came from. I appreciate this
information because I had not been considering the IPA stuff at all but
I will now.
