CNAME record for the root of the domain

well, since you must register "example.org" from .org registry, you 
would need ask them to put the CNAME into .org zone

However
- I don't know if any registry supports this
- you'd loose the possibility of putting whatever into example.org zone
   (e.g. www.example.org).

Just accept the fact that it's much better to have the zone with A/AAAA 
records, and change it when example.com changes.
