There's a fairly helpful page at bind9.net that lists all of the  
defined RR types, responses, etc. in DNS, with short explanations of  
their meaning and references to the defining RFC.  The page is at <http://www.bind9.net/dns-parameters 
 >.  This might help you when you come across unfamiliar terminology.
