WIndows DNS (master) -> BIND (slave)

Effectively I learnt today that I do not have to pre-create minimal zone
files for each zone I'd like to dump to the slave.

Is that fact documented anywhere? If it is then I definitely overlooked
it after I spent days figuring out how I am going to do this with zero
bind experience.

OR - Maybe I am just a dumb " "

This makes little sense. A slave server doesn't care what the old
contents of the zone file were -- it totally replaces it with the one it

pulls from the master.
