Dynamic DNS - .jnl file

I needed to make some manual updates to a dynamic zone file so I took
the following steps:

   1. rndc stop
   2. remove the journal file (.jnl)
   3. edit the zone
   4. start named

Everything seems to be okay, however the .jnl file hasn't been
regenerated.  My logs say the zone is being updated without any errors.
 

With the .jnl file be generated eventually?


BTW...BIND 9.2.1
