Req: Total beginners help - Win Q.

As a follow up to this post, I wish to clarify I'ts not that I haven't 
tried, and failed. The last test I did was tonight where I did a complete 
install and followed the instructions to a tee as posted on 
http://www.zytrax.com/books/dns/ch5/win2k.html

However when I finally get so far as to start the service, it even tossed 
me out saying it couldn't start due to some error 1069 in the service.

It simply refuses to run so I guess I must be missing a vital part 
somewhere.
