ixfr problem

I'm not sure I understand what you are going for here. You should
never manually update the slave's zone files; those are the property
of named and it can and in fact very well may overwrite your changes
at any point in time. The master never transfers the zone from
anywhere; that is the point of having one master and one or more
slaves. If they would all transfer to and from each other, imagine the
mess that would cause!

By the way, in what way is IXFR involved in this?
