Dns interoperability issues

Hello All,

  Wondering if someone could shed some light on an interoperability issue I
seek to resolve.  Currently the company I am working for has 2 Windows 2000
"Active Directory Integrated" Dns servers that are authoritative for our
domain.  What I am looking to do is to setup a secondary -- or -- caching
server (at the very least) on Solaris 8 box.  Is there any documentation on
the net anyone is aware of about dns interoperability concerns?  Links or
references would be appreciated.
