Named will move it's cache files sideways if it detects a
error in them when it goes to read them. This is common
if you are upgrading from a older BIND 8. BIND 8 and BIND
9 process master files without explicit TTL values differently
and depending upon what named-xfer wrote BIND 9 may reject
the what named-xfer wrote. This is not a problem as BIND 9
will just transfer the zone again and write the master file
in a form that it likes.

As for why the zones are not transfering you should look at
your log files on both the slave and master machines.
