Bind 9 Question?

I just installed Bind 9 at home on a FreeBSD 4.2 OS.  At the Comman line I
type in named -v and it resturns that the versioin is named 8.2.3 T6B.  I DL
the sources from isc.org, Bind 9 folder.  What is up?
