If you wanted to get a little fancier, you could reduce the TTL on the A record
prior to the change so that other servers will see the new address sooner.

Note that this "volatilization" technique isn't applicable only to A records
associated with nameservers. It can be useful for *any* A records -- webservers,
mailservers, etc.
