Should I Upgrade

I am running 8.2.3, are there any real benefits to upgrading to 9.x. From
the messages I've seen on this list 9.x has problems. Also where is the
RPM's at? downloaded the source and compiled on my box but a friend is not
as literate as I and needs to upgrade his still. (hard to believe someone
knows less than me)
To recap;
1) Should I upgrade to 9.x
2) Are there 8.2.3 or higher rpm's (redhat 6.2 and 7.0)
