XX+ in messages

Looks like you've got query logging enabled. This line says that
170.170.225.129 is asking your nameserver for the "ftp A IN" record. I
don't know what the "XX+" actually means, though. It looks like all the
queries in my log show either "XX+" or "XX ", but I can't immediately
see a pattern indicating the difference. Anyone?
