when I do a ping direclty to an IP address in my network, I see that a DNS query is sent to the DNS server. Why? How can I switch this off? The network is pure RedHat 6.2 The option 'DNS required for normal operation' is switched off in linuxconf. Thanks for any hints! Albrecht
