Req. configuration for ixfr log file

Hi all
I set up DDNS on AIX 4.3.3. Things are working fine except ixfr file. I set
up primary & secondary server and after refreshing named zone transfer is
taking place from secondary to primary. But I don't know the reason why
ixfr log file  is not getting created. In the zone area of named.conf file
I included the following line.
ixfr-directory /etc/named/db.in.xl.com
What shall I do in order to create this file
