private dns question

hi,
I am new to the mailing list.

I have a question about private public dns servers :

If there is no replication between the two servers,
can I set the same name in both server pointing to
different IP (one for the internal user using a
private IP and one for the public user with the public
IP (Nat'ed fro mthe private IP)?

This should help me saparate private and public DNS
traffic.

Thanks you for any comments and/or advice you can
provide me.
