You don't want 8.2.2 as it has a known security issue.

named.conf replaced named.boot at the transition to 8, the
format is changed, and for large(!) DNS configurations there are
some conversion tools (Although most of these sites just rewrite
their own scripts that generate the config files in my
experience).

Looks like you haven't got the SUN compiler installed. BIND
packages are available for download from the SUN "BIGADMIN"
website. www.sun.com/bigadmin

I'd jump straight to 9 in your shoes.
