I downloaded FreeBSD a while ago, and I will try it tomorrow, but my
primary server runs Windows 2000. This is just a hobby for me, and I
would enjoy learning how to setup a BIND DNS server.
Can you direct me to any other resources that may help me learn the
basics just to get started with?
Thank you for your assistance.

Hi,
it is painfully obvious to everyone else you've never used
UNIX/Linux.
The lines beginning "#" are to be run as the administrative user
on UNIX systems, this user is called "root", as per page xvi.
UNIX uses "/" to seperate directories - so anything in DNS and
BIND using "/" is probably a UNIX command, and not applicable to
NT.
I'm afraid if you don't know a bit of UNIX, lots of DNS and BIND
will probably leave you lost.
