BIND 8 and Windows 2000 DNS

		It really depends on whether or not the Windows 2000 DNS is a proper
  implementation of DNS. It sounds more like FUD from Microsoft.  Have the
  admin person show you the documentation that says it has to be the master
  and why it won't work the other way.
