ICMP/ Firewall issue

As far as I know, BIND never generates ICMP packets.

Did you perhaps mean UDP instead?

Or maybe something in your network was relying on ICMP redirects and now
that connectivity is lost (??) Do other protocols besides DNS work
between the clients and the server?
