Reverse lookup: no 'A' records?

For no particular reason, I tried to do a lookup on my system's IP, using
the DNS server on my system (which is primary for my domain).  I either
got a timeout, or a message that there were no 'A' records for that IP.

In my db.ZONEINFO, I have:

		IN	A	4.3.2.43
ns1		IN	A	4.3.2.43
mailhost	IN	A	4.3.2.43
mail		IN	A	4.3.2.43
ftp		IN	A	4.3.2.42
ns2		IN	A	4.3.2.42

(IP addresses obviously munged).

Is this not sufficient?  What else do I need to reverse lookup to work?
