Slave server update/win2k

I read in an earlier note that a BIND 8.2.2-P5 slave will not pass on an
update query to the master for the zone.  This being the case, does anyone
know how Win2k servers will react in a situation where it tries to update a
slave server?  Reason being that we want to make a new machine the master
for our domain but keep the old master as a slave.
