local domain appended to only one domain

Hi all

I have a strange error that I just can't seem to understand.
If I do nslookup on:

nslookup xyz.com

It appends my localdomain name to the query. like:
xyz.com.localdomain.com

But strangely all the other domains and hosts in the world resolve fine.
This xyz.com domain is not part of my company. I don't have it in my hosts file either.

Any insight would be really appreciated. I am completely confused.
