So does BIND. Underscores are legal in SRV records because *they are
not hostnames*. In fact the RFC that updated 2052 - I forget its
number and can't be bothered looking it up - mandates the use of
underscores in SRV records. This prevents a naming clash or confusion
between hostnames and SRV records. The service and protocol parts of
the SRV record have underscores in them so that they cannot conflict
with hostnames which cannot contain underscore characters.
