Problem with ctl_server

G'day,

I've got a friend who just got the following message:

"ctl_server: bind: No such file or directory"

he is running Bind version 8.2.1 on Solaris running chroot as user nobody 
and group dns

Apparently this is the only message he got - can anyone tell me what the 
message might be referring to?
