That it happens so often suggests that the error message needs to be tuned a
bit to be more informative.  It wasn't obvious to me what was going on
either.  I managed to find the answer on deja.com before making a fool of
myself on the newsgroup.

I don't think it's reasonable to expect everyone running bind to be up on
all the latest nuances in the relevant RFCs.  This was a particularly subtle
change.
