large size binaries after compile on Solaris2.6?

thanks, as you can tell I'm pretty new at this stuff.
the file  sample file sizes are now:

-rwxr-xr-x   1 root     staff     662088 Dec  7 23:54 named*
-rwxr-xr-x   1 root     staff     357088 Dec  7 23:54 named-xfer*
-rwxr-xr-x   1 root     staff      51264 Dec  7 23:54 ndc*
