What I like most is its reliability. We run BIND as the public resolvers on our ISP network. It provides a critical service to our customers and has never let us (or them) down.

To me, BIND’s strengths are:

1. The openness of the source.
2. The development team and contributors behind the source.
3. The commitment from ISC to maintaining this important reference standard.

This has enabled us to build and run BIND on a variety of processor architectures and operating systems over the years. New features, protocol support, etc. have always been available in the release almost exactly when we needed them!
