Hi Robert,

We did ask on this list if anyone was interested in taking over ISC-DHCP as an ‘authorized’ fork, and in the end, no, we did not get any volunteers. There was one person who indicated they might want to maintain the client, as part of a team, if we could find others to help, but nothing that rose to the level of a viable committment.

In case you haven't found it, we announced the EOL here on this list (https://lists.isc.org/pipermail/dhcp-users/2022-October/022786.html)
https://lists.isc.org/pipermail/dhcp-users/2022-October/022786.htmland on the ISC web site, https://www.isc.org/blogs/isc-dhcp-eol/ a year ago, and I am unaware of any actively-maintained fork. If you happen to find one though, please do let us know, as there are several places where I could drop breadcrumbs to make it easier for users to find these.

The problems we faced in continuing to maintain ISC DHCP would also present difficulties for other maintainers, so I am not very surprised that we haven’t seen a viable fork emerge.

Regards,

Vicky Risk, ISC Product Manager
