RFC 4361 vs. RFC 6939

Nobody ever made it a bullet item in an RFQ, so it never happened.   Updating your routers to support RFC 6939 is indeed probably easier, although by no means certain either.   If you want this stuff, you have to beat up your vendors, and not just passively wait!   :)
