On the contrary, but I have seen too many times people "fixing" stuff in
what appears to be a good way, only to find later that they broke more
than they fixed because they did not think it all through.
That ISP should be forced to realize that their network is broken and
fix it.

One other and more simple solution is to fix the problem by reducing the
logging, that way you won't see the problem; and the added traffic is
not so much you can detect it unless your connection is very slow.
