Some switches only support circuit-id with "ip dhcp snooping vlan 1 information option format-type circuit-id string".

It seems subscriber-id is supported more often on layer3 interfaces of routers and circuit-id is found on layer2 interfaces of lan switches.  But as you can stuff any string into both of them just use what you get.
