Network Address getting assigned to client and ping not working (ver 4.2.2)

hi,

as peter says, the 7.7.7.0 address would be the network address....you
shouldnt be handing it out as part of a range... which is what you are doing.

dhcpd is only doing what you told it to do :-|

ideally you would have something like

range 7.7.7.2 7.7.7.253;

(this would allow you to have either the .1 or the .254 as the gateway address..

and as also said, you need to hand the client some other options
