Hi Peter

This is normal behaviour for BIND. Once you start using dynamic DNS updates you should never edit your zone files by hand. Rather you should use nsupdate or other management tool to do dynamic updates only.

If it is necessary to manually fix something that can't be done by a dynamic tool, then you can use "rndc freeze" if you are running bind 9.
