do you know what else does happen quite often tho?

the DHCPINFORMing client is given a different domain nameservers or
domain search, or other options, and it appears to the user that
they've lost network access if that configuration is no longer valid
for them...

DHCPINFORM and DHCPREQUEST processing is necessarily different in
several ways in order to conform strictly with RFC 2131...something
we've been meaning to reduce.

the wpad option poison at DHCPREQUEST time also solves this neatly
however.
