Can't compile 4.1.1b2 with Sun Studio 12

sorry i didn't see this...this is a known issue with the sun compiler
on 4.*...it all started with our new flashy autoconf stuff (with 3.x
doesn't have).

just wanted to say it's not your fault, and i don't have a workaround
at present except to use gcc for the time being.
