Query Regarding DHCP Lease time option 51.

Thanks a lot for replying!
So you mean to say that DHCP Client should send the same tease time in both DHCP DISCOVER or DHCP REQUEST.
So if the Client has requested X as the lease time while sending DHCP DISCOVER and DHCP SERVER has replied with an OFFER containing lease time as Y. So In the above situation Client should send lease time as X only irrespective of what it has got in the OFFER (Y)...??

The client should send the same lease time in both the DHCPDISCOVER  
and DHCPREQUEST messages.  This is required in the protocol because  
the DHCP server may use what the client sends when deciding how to  
respond. So if the client sends something inconsistent between  
DHCPDISCOVER and DHCPREQUEST, that could confuse the server.

In practice, this may make no difference, but you should follow the  
RFC anyway.
