Installing on VMWare

Hi,
I am trying with version 3.1.0. I went through the README file and I didn't found any restriction, maybe I just skipped something... According to the README:

"In this release, the server and relay agent are currently fully
functional on NetBSD, Linux systems with kernel version 2.2 or later,
FreeBSD, OpenBSD, BSD/OS, Digital Tru64 Unix and Solaris[...]

The DHCP client currently only knows how to configure the network on
NetBSD, FreeBSD, OpenBSD, BSD/os, Linux, Solaris and NextStep[...]"

So I guess that Ubuntu 6.10 with kernel 2.6.x is supported, right?

Thanks for your time,
Rubén

Which DHCP version you are trying to install. You have to study the README file and the installation file. Where r u entering ./configure? I think there is come version mistake with in the code or something is missing.

  Hi again,

Thanks for your answer Vivek but it doesn't seem to be a lack of compilers problem (I have checked it anyway). The thing is that the errors look like:

ln: target `raw.c' is not a directory

I don't know why it is yielding "is not a directory" when indeed it shouldn't be a directory.

 Any more suggestions?
 Rubén Ríos
