dhcp-relay and windows?

Hi,

today I had some trouble with the dhcp-relay and windows clients:


LAN -  Some Linux with dhcp3 server
 |
Firewall Checkpoint SPLAT (stripped down RH Linux) with dhcp3 relay
 |
WLAN AP




When I use a Linux client in the WLAN net, it sends a DHCP request,
receives a reply and is happy. 


When I use a Windows XP client, it receives the same reply, but
silently ignores it. It works when attached to the LAN. 


Has anyone seen this problem? 
It might be the problem described in 
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/892193/en-us
but I don't see how to circumvent it yet.
