no log generation

Ok,

I found the culprit.

In my syslog.conf file, just before the entry for the dhcpd logs, where
the following lines:
!ppp
*.*                                             /var/log/ppp.log

I placed the dhcpd line before those entries, and now I'm getting my
logs. I still don't know exactly the meaning or sintax of these, but I
suspect it's a section declaration or something alike (I will check
it...). So, the real culprit here was my inexperience with FreeBSD and
Syslog.
